A standout guard in high school and at Southern Illinois University, Mike Glenn was first drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1977. During his ten seasons in the NBA, Glenn would go on to also play for the Buffalo Braves, the New York Knicks, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Noted for his precise mid-range jump shot, Glenn earned the nickname Stinger while playing with the Knicks.

Following his career in the NBA, Glenn has brought his talents to sports broadcasting, public speaking, researching and teaching African American history, and authoring 5 books.

Glenn also continues to run the very successful Mike Glenn All-Star Basketball Camp for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Inspired by his lifelong interaction with deaf and hard-of-hearing basketball players at the Georgia School for the Deaf, where his father taught and coached, Glenn founded the camp in 1980. For 35 years, the camp has empowered countless young athletes with hearing difficulties to not only dream big, but to make those dreams come true.

Empowering those with hearing difficulties has been a life-long passion of mine, and I was happy to find that same passion mirrored in the HearStrong Foundation. Their mission to change the way hearing loss and hearing devices are viewed in our society is not only something I support, but a cause that I am happy to promote.
